Who's Your Daddy??

It's come to my attention today that language is a pet peeve of mine. Okay maybe not language per se but I'm really particular about proper English. Spelling, grammar (though not as much cuz as a native speaker I only know something is right when it SOUNDS right...yeah I know...ridic) , subj verb agreements...it gets to me if somebody is talking to me or texting and something's not right. I don't get upset or worked up but I'll find the need to correct it, if the person in question is a good friend or someone I know who won't mind me correcting them then I will, otherwise I just note it in my head. And I don't do this to demean the other party, it's just....something a lil minor than a pet peeve I guess =)

On another note, I need to go back to Alliance to brush up my french, find some place to continue with my spanish, and pick up japanese (Melvin Chan I'm gonna need to know where you get your classes!)

Oh and yeah the title of this post is random.
It came to me within seconds.
And it probably won't have any relevance to the post.
Hah.

I need to up the ante where my discipline is concerned. Gym. Food. Skincare.
If you really want something you'll face it head on no matter how scary it can get. My motto in life's always been how nothing is impossible as long as you follow up with the effort. Sometimes you have to go the extra mile to pull miracles but hey if you've got passion that shouldn't be a tall order.

I have yet to order my graduation gown.
I've gotta get to that soon.

Wheeeee!

Things are gonna get busy one monday comes by and frankly, I can't wait.
I've had too much time on my hands.

Which is why my blog posts have been pretty redundant and empty too.
Okay buenas noches todos!

Tell me goodbye

The title of the post has more to do with bigbang's latest music video that's out and is really kick ass. The artistic director for the video must be a genius because it's incredibly beautiful and of course as usual teamed with the amazing vocals of possibly korea's best boyband, everything is just =)

But where goodbyes are concerned, my grandmother passed away last week. It's been exactly a week in fact and it still doesn't feel real. The last time I saw her was earlier this year in January when I went back. I had lunch with her twice and visited her once more. Each and every time I left her house I was faced with extreme friction, a pull that didn't want me to leave. Little did I think that that last time I saw her would really be the last. It was a bittersweet moment finding out that she'd gone. It was probably when I got the phonecall from supermodelme that she was fighting for her last breath. I can only be grateful that she didn't have to suffer a lot in her last moments and she got to see my dad one last time. I wish I could've been back in Burma for her as well. She lived a long and interesting life herself having been married to my grandfather who was also a diplomat and country-hopped wherever his postings would take him. I didn't feel as affected when my grandfather passed, probably because I was too young to really know the value of such things, but this time round, wow I can only say I've really come to despise night time because it makes me feel so small and alone. And that's when all the emotions come together and force out the tears that I've tried hiding from my mom and my brother. Sometimes I wish I weren't so emotional, but it's only human to be vulnerable and feel right? I can still hear her voice and the other day I thought I could smell her. I'm really not good at dealing with death.

On to things less somber, my graduation date has finally been released on the NUS Commencement site and yes people I'll be getting my bachelors degree on the 12th of July. I think political science must have one of the larger cohorts in FASS because our timeslot is only for psychology and polsci majors (of course this includes PhDs, masters, etc)....or maybe a lot more psychology students. At least that what I assume but I could be wrong. But speaking of those two majors being on the same day and timeslot for graduation I believe a LOT of photos are in order ( also with a particular miss cheryl wee hint hint) and it's gonna be a pretty interesting day. I'm so not ready to leave school (though technically I've already left)....job-hunting for even part time is depressing me. And the technicalities of your paperwork is also pretty intricate. For example, one job I looked at offered to pay me $5.5 per hour for being an undergrad and would only consider me a degree holder (who gets paid 8 bucks an hour) AFTER my graduation ceremony. I see it's not just me fearing that I won't have passed my finals haha touch wood. But okay I really don't want to work for five bucks an hour cuz you can't save anything from that and there is a kick ass tfc + girls beach trip happening soonish =) need moolah. I honestly feel bad taking money from my parents now that I've graduated....even if I'm still unemployed. It's not like modeling's been bringing in much money either considering the market preferences in Singapore.

Okay time to go meet my Nicole lover for lunch! =)
Have a great wednesday everybody!! <3

Tick Tock

Don't you think it's funny how time is so precious yet it's numbered? You would think that it's priceless and you can't quantify it. Just a random thought.

It's also funny how when we really need more time it goes by that much faster, and when we're so free an hour can feel like ten years. Though I'm not so sure that applies to Singapore because to me an hour here zooms by. You can do a lot in an hour in say for example Australia.

Lots of faces have come and gone within just a year.
Some didn't want to go.
Some just had to.

Okay I wanted to put a video in this post but xanga's really changed since I last blogged (see how long it's been!) and I have no idea how to post it =/ so here's the url. hahaha.

I think it's a pretty cool song with a nifty tune. And it was used for the Victoria's Secret shows sometime ago.
I need to hit the gym tomorrow.
I'm at that point in life where I need to figure out what I want to do with it.
In all honesty I just want to float and wander.
Maybe that itself will become my purpose.
Hmmm.

¡Buenas Noches!

It's that time of year again

Kinda funny how my calendar goes by the school year. So as the title suggests, it's that time where plans are made, goals are set, I'm thinking of what I want to achieve in this school year (not just academic goals mind), etc etc.

This is actually gonna be a pretty short post. More like, yes people I'm alive =) and I know YOU my dearest Victoria, read and keep reminding me I haven't updated this place since forever (more like my last post which was post-MSU) so that's what this is for. Ha ha ha.

So I'm not gonna divulge any of my plans yet BUT they have been set in motion and I'm gonna see to it that it all materializes in due time. I had a lot of time to think in the one month I spent in Australia. And a lot of fun. Pictures up soon!

I'm one happy bird =) Emiko over and out!

Dodos and Global Warming

YIMING IS BACK!

I just had to note something really funny down because while I was about town today with Alvin I think we were talking about global warming or something...no wait, yeah we were talking about how he tried to kill a small spider that was crawling near my tray. Grateful for getting ridof the spider no doubt, but I told him every organism is important and contributes to our ecosystem. Then he asks why then hasn't the exitnction of dodos affected us severely and I said "just you wait, one day you'll see how the extinction of dodos has contributed one way or another to global warming". Yeah that's emiko with zero sleep and constant studying for exams for you right there.

Disclaimer: I'm usually not this silly. I'm just very sleep deprived.

Oh yeah on another note, you're getting on my nerves. Nevermind. I have better things to do than sit here and be a hater.

SIX days and counting to MSU finals!

I know this is kinda late but there's the MSU CHARITY CAR WASH happening later today at 10am until noon at the SAFRA club at Mt Faber. So if you've got the time, please head down as the girls will be washing cars with proceeds going to Club Rainbow. Club Rainbow is a charity supporting children who are terminally ill. They're also involved in a lot of family-support activities and movements and you'll definitely be contributing to a great cause by getting your car washed. I strongly believe that childhood is something that ought not to be violated and every child deserves a chance at a good life, so please if you've got time, go down and support this event. Your donation and time will be greatly appreciated =)

I regret that I won't get to be at the car wash because I have an exam on monday morning and I haven't even touched my notes for that particular class yet. =(

It's always important to give back to society just as it is important to return your trays after eating at fast food chains. Besides, children are our leaders of tomorrow and it's important to give them their due respect and to give them means to explore who they are so that they can contribute to the world too.

I need to get cracking on Singapore's Foreign Policy. and fast. Test is on monday and I'm nowhere near prepared. Then tuesday is Voice studies, and wrapping up the exams for this academic year will be public admin in asia on thursday evening.  --- BRING ON THE NERD----

Emiko over and out =)

Have a great week ahead everybody!
